Attention Health Networks! Ning is partnering with WEGO Health as a Ning Sponsor Partner to offer FREE Ning Plus access for your Ning Network. WEGO Health, the home of online Health Activists, makes it their mission to support passionate leaders of online health discussions around the world. Building a community around the health topic you care about is critical to enabling these discussions and getting people the support they need in a safe and independent environment. Ning and WEGO Health make it easy to build your community around any health issue.

If you are the Network Creator for an active Ning Network primarily focused on health related content and community, you’re invited to apply for WEGO Health’s sponsorship program. As a participating network, you will receive all of the features in Ning’s Plus package (unlimited membership, groups, chats, full branding control, etc.). The top navigation of your Ning Network will display a simple, “Brought to you by WEGO Health” message. In addition, you will be invited to the WEGO Health Ning Network, an exclusive community of Health Activists who can provide support for developing and extending your Network’s reach and impact. WEGO Health will be leveraging their strong relationships with leading companies in the health care industry to co-sponsor this program. Qualifying networks in this program will be notified of additional sponsorship opportunities as they become available.

Qualifying Ning Networks must meet the following criteria:

Primarily focused on health issues and topics
Activity in the last 30 days (blog posts and/or forum discussions)
Include more than 3 members
Applicant must be the Network Creator

Do I have to join the WEGO Health Ning Network?

While joining the WEGO Health network is not a condition of receiving sponsorship, we do hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity to connect with and learn from other Ning Health Network Creators and other online health leaders by joining WEGO Health’s community of Health Activists.

Our Ning Network is based in another country, do we qualify?

Yes! This is a global sponsorship from WEGO Health.

If we make money on our Ning Network, does this mean we don’t qualify?

Nope. If you run your own ads, accept donations, sell products through CafePress or have found other ways to monetize and support your network, you are still welcome to apply for WEGO Health sponsorship. If the primary purpose of your network is e-commerce, however, your network is not eligible for this program. If you are unsure about this or any other criteria, feel free to apply and we will review your Network.

My network is primarily comprised of Health Care Practitioners, do we qualify for sponsorship?

Yes! Networks of professionals are welcome to apply for this program.

My network is focused on healthy living, do we qualify?

Networks focused on providing support and information around diet, fitness, nutrition, weight-loss and healthy living are welcome to apply for sponsorship. If the primary purpose of your network is to sell vitamins, supplements or otherwise engaged in e-commerce, it is not eligible for this program.

I’ve already started receiving donations from my members, does this mean I can’t apply?

Not at all—you’re still welcome to apply for WEGO Health sponsorship. We’d encourage you to contact your members regarding the best use of the funds they’ve donated, however—perhaps they could be donated to a charity or nonprofit that supports people living with your health condition.

How long will this sponsorship last?

The WEGO Health program will last for a minimum of 12 months from the date for your application acceptance, but WEGO Health is already working hard to secure co-sponsors who will extend that minimum with us.

Will WEGO Health be contacting my members without my consent?

No. WEGO Health will not contact members without the Network Creator’s consent. WEGO Health may contact you, the Network Creator, directly from time to time, but these communications will not extend to your members unless you agree to do so.

What will the WEGO Health branding look like on my Ning Network?

WEGO Health will have a small logo with a brief tagline “Brought to you by WEGO Health”, or similar, in the upper left hand corner of your Ning Network.

What happens after I apply? Do I still need to sign up for Ning Plus through my Ning Network?

After receiving your application we will send you an email with confirmation as to whether or not you qualify for this sponsorship. This will happen within a couple of weeks so you will not need to sign up for Ning Plus until we have sent you a final status.
